"Hope for Hooters" Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk
five women, ten boobs, sixty miles...One Mission!
Our Team: Amye,Lydia, Leslie, Cheri and Farrah. I am walking for my beautiful, courageous mother, Marcine, whom I love dearly. She has twice survived breast cancer. I am walking for my aunts, Maxine, Wanda and Wilma, my cousin Misty and my mother-in-law, Frances, who are also breast cancer survivors. I am walking for Suzanne who lost her battle in May of 2003. I am walking for my cousin Sally who is currently battling the "beast". On October 14-16, 2005, our team, HOPE FOR HOOTERS will unite with thousands of women and men to walk for three days. We will walk 60 miles through the San Diego area in a bold display of courage and commitment. It's a weekend of hope, as we honor lives lost, celebrate survivors, promote breast cancer research, and help bring breast cancer care to those who so desperately need it. This event has become very dear to my heart because we raise money to help save so many lives affected by breast cancer. This incredible event will take training, commitment and endurance on my part. However, in order to participate in this event, each team member must raise $2,100.00. This money will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust. If you would like to make a personal donation online, go to the link section and click on "to donate". You may also go to www.the3-day.org. Select San Diego, donate and enter my name. I will be keeping you in mind, and in my heart, as I walk sixty miles for the Breast Cancer 3-Day. Without your generosity, none of this would be possible. Thank you for your support. |
